Benjamin Somers brings a lifelong passion for agriculture and a deep commitment to preserving farming’s heritage to the Board of Directors of The American Center for Farming Heritage. As the eighth generation of a nine-generation farm family in Newark, Delaware, Ben has experienced firsthand the evolution of American agriculture. Raised on his family’s dairy farm in New Castle County, he developed an appreciation for the hard work, resilience and community values that define the American farm family.

Ben earned his degree in Agribusiness Marketing and Management from the University of Delaware and now serves as an Agricultural Relationship Manager with Horizon Farm Credit, helping local farming operations navigate business analysis and financial planning. He also volunteers with Delaware 4-H, the Delaware FFA Association and the University of Delaware Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni Association. As a member of the Delaware State Fair Board of Directors, Ben continues to promote agricultural education and celebrate Delaware’s farming traditions.
